intive joins World Wide Web Consortium

Munich 12 January 2017 - World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the main international authority and driving force behind maintaining and improving the Web standards, welcomes intive as a new member.

As part of its membership, intive will collaborate with leading companies, organizations, and individuals in the web world on the global mission to shape the Web’s future and to foster the compatibility of web standards across all industry members. As a member organization, intive will participate in setting strategic directions to the consortium through reviews of W3C activity proposals and operational policies as well as through demonstrating its technical leadership.

Founded in 1994 by the inventor of the Web, Tim Berners-Lee, W3C gathers well over 400 member organizations and key players from the IT industry. The community brings together different industries, promotes web technology innovations and enables developing working relations with peer members from all around the world through a variety of on-line and in-person opportunities. These include W3C Interest Groups, Business Groups and Working Groups covering a wide range of areas including virtual reality, web payments, web security, Internet of Things, media playback and automotive to name a few.

Being able to bring our own ideas to the strategic discussion about the Web’s future and to contribute to new web standards is a great achievement for us. We are building state of the art products for our customers and W3C provides our organization with an early access to the next generation of the Web technical specifications as well as most recent service innovation and creates a unique opportunity to cascade this innovation to our customers.
